It is located within the Bandite di Scarlino Nature Reserve and can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike.

The sand of Cala Violina beach is clear, grainy with small grains of quartz. In Cala Violina there are no bathing establishments or services for bathers. It is therefore necessary to equip yourself with umbrella, chairs, water and food sufficient for the whole day.

The particular name of the beach derives from the sound that the sand emits when walking on barefoot. Remember the very faint sound of a violin. Precisely because it is very weak it is difficult to warn it in summer when the beach is crowded with tourists. The best time to visit the beach and listen to its magic is spring or autumn. Despite the temperatures, not really ideal, the crystalline blue sea invites you to dive even in these two seasons.

Get to Cala Violina

From the Provincial Road 158 begins a dirt road that ends with a closed parking lot. It develops through the local Mediterranean pinewood for about 1.5 km, or 20-30 minutes of walking.Comfortable shoes are required and good physical performance whether you decide to travel on foot or by bike.
Being located within an environmental reserve, the route is definitely impressive.

The beach of Cala Martina

Using the same parking as a starting point, you can also reach the beach of Cala Martina.
Smaller and less known than its sister, Cala Martina is characterized by an intimate and suggestive atmosphere.
