{"id":2543,"date":"2023-01-26T11:25:05","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T10:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.maremma.it\/blog\/?p=2543\/"},"modified":"2023-01-26T11:25:05","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T10:25:05","slug":"vulci-naturalistic-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maremma.it\/blog\/en\/vulci-naturalistic-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Vulci naturalistic park"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Vulci nature park<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Orbetello is a Tuscan municipality in the province of Grosseto, located in an important nature reserve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">The\u00a0<strong>small peninsula<\/strong>\u00a0where it stands is surrounded by the\u00a0<strong>Levante and Ponente lagoons<\/strong>which are very known for their sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">This almond-shaped town\u00a0is also connected to the heart of Monte Argentario by an artificial dam built in 1841.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">The main resource of the inhabitants is fishing, in the shallow lagoon waters; while among the streets of the city village, we find very ancient walls, and monuments from the Etruscan period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">In the center of the lagoon, a pretty Spanish mill, and if you&#8217;re lucky even some pink flamingos;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"> will be the perfect setting while you enjoy some typical dishes of the area in the village of Orbetello.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2229 size-full alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maremma.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/download-1.jpeg\" alt =\"The natural park of Vulci\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maremma.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/download-1.jpeg 275w, https:\/\/www.maremma.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/download-1-250x166.jpeg 250w, https:\/\/www.maremma.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/download-1-150x100.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 275px) 100vw, 275px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">The natural park of Vulci<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">The naturalistic and archaeological park of Vulci, less than 30 minutes from Orbetello, includes the whole territory where Etruscan and Roman cities once stood, including all of them the remains.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">It covers 900 hectares:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"> among unspoiled nature, the canyons dug into the rocks of volcanic origin by the Fiora river which, after a small waterfall, widens into the Pellicone lake, the Mediterranean maquis and the small valleys where you can meet Maremma cows and horses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">It was &#8216;built&#8217; in 1999, and allows all its visitors to take various well-signposted routes to see the beauty of nature or the archaeological remains .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Inside the park we also find <strong>the medieval castle of the Badia<\/strong>\u00a0dating back to the 13th century;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"> which can be accessed from the Etruscan bridge called del Diavolo or dell&#8217;Arcobaleno, which rises to a height of 30 m.<\/span ><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">There are also many activities: guided tours at night, trekking on foot or on horseback, mountain bike excursions, educational workshops and offers for school groups divided into itineraries dedicated to the different levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vulci nature park Orbetello is a Tuscan municipality in the province of Grosseto, located in an important nature reserve.
